Kim--
I do recorders in 4th grade and see them for half an hour 3 times a
week. I do recorders 2 days and one day of other things (singing,
movement, etc.). This year I spent one day on Denise Gagne's book
(Complete Recorder Resource?) and Recorder Karate and one on Recorder
Classroom (a wonderful resource which I highly recommend!) I test
every week, mostly during class; also before or after school but that
doesn't work for many of my students. I require them to test with the
CD on just a couple songs, it's faster to test without it but I do
like them to have to follow it sometimes. I also allow them to test
with a friend if both agree; I can keep track of who is playing what
with only two. My classes have ranged from 15-20 kids so testing goes
pretty quickly.

Ona in south central North Dakota--we're neighbors! Where are you in SD?
