I need help from band people - Stephen?
How do you keep students on the beat when they are looking at music?
I've tried toe tapping, banging on the music stand (seem to remember some teacher doing that before), playing claves, having a child play claves, waving arms in large geometric patterns, and counting into the microphone... it's getting better, but surely there are some great ideas out there? Maybe there is a preparation step I'm missing.
